Tabby's Blues Box

The Blues Box is set to close shortly, and as a tribute to the end of an era, we are working on a documentary about Tabby Thomas and his club, The Blues Box. It has been an icon in Baton Rouge for a very long time, providing a home to both legendary blues musicians, such as Thomas himself, and to fledgling musicians eager to jump into a fading scene.

Below are some picture taken during the production of the documentary so far.
*Updated 11/14/04

11/13/04 - Tabby's held a benefit for Tabby's daughter Yolanda, who has been hit by a car and seriously injured. Playing that night were several great musicians including Aubrey Dunham, from Houston Texas, and Tabby's son, Chris Thomas King, recently receiving recognition for his film roles in O Brother! and Ray.
In the following pictures, Tabby tours us through the Blues Box and some of the art and photos on the wall and Tabby himself sits down to join the band on the piano and sing the blues later that night.
